Eagleton Elementary Greenhouse and Garden Club

Thanks to some passionate community members, our partner Feeding Many, and grants from Jamba Juice and the Wolcott Foundation, the Eagleton Garden has been revived and even got a face lift!

Our volunteers have partnered with school staff and parents to teach students:

  • Where food comes from

  • How Plants Grow

  • Environmental Sustainability

  • Dietary Nutrition

  • Stewardship

  • Seed to Cafeteria

Eagleton Elementary is letting us use their greenhouse to grow our seedlings! By growing our own food we can decrease our carbon footprint and increase accessibility to high quality food to families in our neighborhood.

Student participants learn best garden practices

Students have planted the following beds

  • 3 Sisters
  • Salad Bar
  • Soul Food
  • Mediterranean Garden
  • Herb Gardens
  • Wildflowers

The produce will be used in the cafeteria, sold at a youth run market, given to garden hosts, volunteers, and food banks that serve our local community.

Students and Parents are invited to join us in the gardens during harvest season and take some fresh organic produce home!
