The Easter event has been reschedule for next Saturday, April 26th.🐰🌱 Hi all! It’s Easter weekend coming up! And in good Colorado fashion, we’re getting a major snowstorm in the Front Range. lol. This will Coincide with our EARTH DAY orchard cleanup event! See additional information below. So while we’re snowed out, and it makes gardening events complicated, I can say we need the moisture. We live in a quasi desert, afterall.. and this past week we saw temperatures already in the upper 70s, maybe a 80s in a few places. Desert Facts
A desert is technically an area of earth which receives 10 inches of precipitation or less each year. In Colorado, we get tons of snow, but get this, it takes on average 13 inches of snow to equal 1 inch of rain! And it can takes over 40 inches of super fine dry powdery snow to equal an inch of rain! Denver is right on the cusp of being a true desert with 8 – 14 inches rain annually. 🌱🌍🌼 EARTH DAY WEEKEND! Saturday, April 26th, we are hosting a BIG Park cleanup and work day. Please join us at 10am to help spruce up Weaver Creek Park for the warm weather season Interested in Volunteering with special events?
If you are interested in volunteering with Jovial concepts would like to be put on our internal volunteer email list please send me an email to let me know and I’ll send you details on events as we go forward. The Easter event has been reschedule for next Saturday, April 26th.🐰🌱 🐝Join Jovial Concepts for a Buzz-worthy Earth Day Event at Grand Hyatt Denver on April 22nd. They are having a queen bee coronation and honoring Jovial Concepts with a fundraiser! A Flyer with more information is included below. Please RSVP at this link.🐝
Water will be turned on for the orchard on April 23rd, we’ll have some testing to do before its into the gardens but that should take a few additional days. We work around May 11 for our Frost date, and will be planting tender warm season plants only after May 11. To ensure the most bountiful year possible, we like to plan ahead, start plenty of seeds early, and get frost tolerant plants into the ground as soon as we can. |
