Peace Initiative Contest 2014

What will YOU do for Peace? For Jovial Concepts, Peace is about having a safe place to sleep without fear of violence or weather, having adequate healthy food for your family, having the ability to provide for those you care about, having access to education, fair public media, health care, clean water, and most importantly having access to all basic human needs in a way that is sustainable from one generation to the next.

To do this alone would be impossible, Jovial Concepts has designed several different programs to engage communities in Colorado and globally in examining their community, educating residents, and creatively and actively problem solving. In 2013 Jovial Concepts awarded $5,000 in project funding to the best entry in our Peace Initiative contest.This year, we are expanding our contest to include Elementary, Middle, and High School submissions!

Through submitting a project to Jovial Concepts students will look at their community, learn about current social and economic problems, and come up with creative solutions. The Peace Initiative Contest process gives youth much needed experience with budgeting, planning, organizing, and application skills that will be useful for the rest of their life. Their projects will be a practical addition to college and job applications, as well as useful insight for schools and employers into the community mindfulness of Colorado youth.

Funding Awards Include:

• One $5,000 award to fund the best idea submitted by a group or individual age 18 and up
• Three $1,000 awards to fund the best idea submitted by a group or individual age 13 to 18
• Three $250 awards to schools, day cares, organizations, or programs with the best projects submitted on behalf of youth 12 and under.

We are currently seeking sponsors and volunteers to spread the word about this wonderful opportunity. Contest opens January 1st and submissions are due by Sept. 1st at midnight MST.

We will start a mass flyer campaign in January to alert everyone that Jovial Concepts is awarding project funding to Youths and Adults who come up with the best ideas to create peace and build community. If you would like to sponsor community initiatives in Colorado and have your logo on hundreds of flyers that will be going out to all schools and youth organizations in your area, please reply with your logo, name, phone number or email, and the city/county where you would like to be advertised.

Ads run until September 2014!! That’s over 8 months of advertising!

Ads will be placed in every school in Colorado, youth organizations, churches, local businesses, and more!!

Sponsorship Levels

$50 for one city

$100 for one county

$150 to have a larger logo or a box added around your logo to emphasize your participation as a sponsor

$250 for state wide advertising with enhanced logo.  This includes online advertisingcampaigns, newsletters, etc!

$500 for state wide advertising with enhanced logo and a small paragraph about your company! Sponsors of $500 or more are invited to join our panel of judges and help pick the 2014 Peace Initiative Contest winners!!

$1000 prize sponsor (3 available)! You will be the sole sponsor for one of our high school participants! We will include a large paragraph about how much your company cares, what your company does, and the best ways to contact you! Your logo will be on the homepage of the www.JovialConcepts.org  linking to your site! Logo will be shown during award ceremony with your company receiving special acknowledgement!
